The Indian actor Sonu Sood has addressed reports about a non-bailable warrant issued against him by a Ludhiana court in a fraud case. The warrant, issued by Judicial Magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur, instructs Mumbai’s Oshiwara Police Station to arrest him. However, Sonu has denied any wrongdoing, clarifying that he was only called as a witness and has no direct connection to the case.
On Friday, the actor took to X (formerly Twitter) to refute the claims, calling the media reports exaggerated and misleading. He explained that the case involved a third party with whom he has no association. According to him, his lawyers have already responded to the court, and on February 10, 2025, he will present a statement proving his non-involvement.
Sonu Sood wrote on X, “We need to clarify that the news circulating on social media platforms is highly sensationalised. To put matters straight, we were summoned as a witness by the Honourable Court in a matter pertaining to a third party to which we have no association or affiliation. Our lawyers have responded and on 10th February 2025 we will give a statement that clarifies our non involvement in the matter. We are neither brand ambassadors nor are we associated in any way. This is just for unnecessary media attention to grab eyeballs. It is sad that celebs become soft targets. We will take strict action in this matter.”

Expressing disappointment over how public figures are often unfairly dragged into controversies, Sonu criticized the way the matter was being portrayed. He stated that neither he nor his brand had any connection to the case and accused certain sections of the media of sensationalizing the issue. He also warned that strict legal action would be taken against those spreading false information.
