Former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Chandrababu Naidu, has accused the governing YSR Congress Party leaders of corruption in the state’s job guarantee program and has pledged to retrieve the funds from them when he returns to office.
The party leaders of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, according to Naidu, are “encasing the bills without performing the works,” and the plan has turned into a “money-spinning machine” for them.
On the first day of his three-day tour to his home assembly segment, Kuppam, Naidu spoke to a public gathering and declared that he would “certainly recover this money” from them as soon as the TDP becomes the next government.
He said that the longest water canal project in the Rayalaseema area, the Handri-Neeva project, was finished and stretched from Srisailam to Ramakuppam. Chief Minister Reddy, however, “did not take any steps in these five years to complete the remaining project.”.
In addition, the previous chief minister promised that the TDP would complete the project within a year of taking power.
He also exhorted people to aim for a majority of one lakh victories in Kuppam in the next elections.
“My hometown is Kuppam, and Gudipalli is like my heart. Gudipalli has regularly given the TDP 95% of the vote in each of these elections. For this reason, I’m sure that using a lakh will win this battle. Additionally, he said that the “countdown for the YSRCP has begun” and claimed that the present administration has stopped any development efforts in Kuppam.
“What is this atrocity and dictatorship?” he said, referring to Chief Minister Jagan Reddy.
In addition, Naidu said that businesses departing the state are “throwing the future of the youth into oblivion” and that the Chief Minister is failing to give jobs to the youth.
