The Space Applications Centre-ISRO said on Monday that Chandrayaan-3’s landing will be delayed until August 27 if the lander module is unsatisfactory.

Nilesh M. Desai, director of ISRO’s Space Applications Centre in Ahmedabad, said the lander module and lunar environment will determine the landing.

Director Desai says. The health of the lander module and Moon conditions will determine if Chandrayaan-3 can arrive two hours before its scheduled landing on August 23. If conditions are bad, we will land the module on the Moon on August 27. If all goes well, we can land the module on August 23.”

On Monday in New Delhi, ISRO chairman and space secretary S Somanath notified Union Minister of State (independent charge) for Science and Technology, Atomic Energy, and Space Jitendra Singh of Chandrayaan-3’s preparation for the August 23 Moon landing.

The ISRO chairman informed the minister that Chandrayaan-3’s systems are working properly and that Wednesday should be trouble-free.

The next two days will monitor Chandrayaan-3’s status. He said the final landing sequence will be loaded and tested two days prior.

Minister Jitendra Singh is certain that Chandrayaan-3, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, would land safely and create a new chapter in planetary exploration.

Chandrayaan-3 will land on the moon at 18:04 IST on August 23, 2023, according to ISRO.

The ISRO website, YouTube, Facebook, and DD National TV will stream live on August 23, 2023, at 17:27 IST.

ISRO established two-way communication between the Chandrayaan-3 lander module and the orbiter, however the lander lost contact after a difficult landing, calling the mission “partially successful”.

India is the only country to land on the lunar south pole, joining the US, Russia, and China.

Chandrayaan-3’s key aims are to demonstrate a safe and gentle lunar landing, roaming, and in-situ scientific investigation.

Conclusion:-

The Space Applications Centre-ISRO will postpone Chandrayaan-3’s landing till August 27 if the lander module’s health and lunar environment are poor. The lunar environment and lander module health will determine the decision. ISRO chairman S Somanath notified Jitendra Singh about Chandrayaan-3’s landing preparedness. Two days earlier, the final landing sequence will be loaded and tested. Chandrayaan-3 will land on the moon at 18:04 IST on August 23, 2023. The ISRO website, YouTube, Facebook, and DD National TV will stream live. India will join the US, Russia, and China as the only lunar south pole landers. Chandrayaan-3 will arrive successfully, rove on the moon, and conduct in-situ research.
