Vicky Kaushal’s much-anticipated film Chhaava has taken the box office by storm, setting new records within its first three days. Directed by Laxman Utekar and starring Rashmika Mandanna alongside Kaushal, the historical action epic made a grand debut on February 14, quickly becoming the biggest Hindi opener of 2025. The film also marks the highest opening of Vicky Kaushal’s career as a solo lead.

The opening weekend proved to be phenomenal, with Chhaava witnessing a staggering rise in collections. After raking in an impressive ₹31 crore on its first day—surpassing Gully Boy’s Valentine’s Day record of ₹19.40 crore—the momentum only intensified. Saturday’s collections surged by 19.35%, bringing in ₹37 crore, but it was Sunday that saw the biggest jump. The film amassed a jaw-dropping ₹49.63 crore on its third day, pushing its total earnings to an extraordinary ₹117.63 crore within just 72 hours of release.

Backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, Chhaava boasts a powerful ensemble cast, with Akshaye Khanna portraying Aurangzeb and Diana Penty as his daughter, Zinat-un-Nissa Begum. Vicky Kaushal steps into the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, while Rashmika Mandanna brings to life the character of Yesubai Bhonsale. Adding to the grandeur of the film is AR Rahman’s soul-stirring music and background score, which have further elevated the cinematic experience.

An adaptation of Shivaji Sawant’s acclaimed Marathi novel Chhava, the film chronicles the inspiring journey of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, blending intense action with a compelling historical narrative.

With its phenomenal opening and unwavering audience enthusiasm, Chhaava is poised to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.
