Yashasvi Jaiswal is the player of the moment as the youngster has smashed back-to-back double tons in the ongoing 5-match test series against England and the youngster has already scored 550 runs in the three test matches of the ongoing series.
The 22 years old cricketer has played only 7 test matches in total but in such a short career, he has three centuries, 2 double centuries and 2 fifties to his name. Many Indian fans and former cricketers compared him with legendary Indian cricketers Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag but the Universe Boss, Chris Gayle feels that Yashasvi’s style resembles the style of a West Indian great.
During an interview, Chris Gayle stated, “It’s like the guy (Yashasvi) has been playing for 20 years, unbelievable. I just hope he can keep it up.”
He further said, “A lot will be expected of him as he goes on but they should just let him continue to flow. He’s an attacking player, you see that in his T20 cricket as well…That’s in his nature as well and they shouldn’t try to curb him or try to change him.”
Chris Gayle further said that Yashasvi Jaiswal reminds him of former West Indian player, Shivnarine Chanderpaul who was also an attacking player.
India and England are facing each other in the fourth test match which is currently being played at Ranchi and Indian fans are expecting a big innings from the young opener.
