City of Fear: Serial Killer Haunts Bareilly, Claiming 9 Lives in Just 6 Months

The recent rash of alleged female killings in Bareilly has prompted the Uttar Pradesh Police to launch a hunt for a serial murderer. The information indicates that since June of this year, up to nine women have been slain in the city; consequently, the local police have recommended ladies avoid going out alone or in groups.

Police were observed frisking commuters in many locations, which raised awareness of the situation on the streets.

The majority of the instances in the last several months have been recorded from the city’s Shahi, Fatehganj West, and Sheeshgarh regions; the victims are mostly between the ages of 50 and 65.

According to the police, all of the ladies were strangled, and the fields held their remains. None of the bodies, meanwhile, revealed signs of sexual assault or looting.

Locals in the city, however, claimed they didn’t leave their houses until absolutely necessary. The daughter of one of the deceased ladies told India Today that her family filed a report after her mother, 55, took a long time to return from the fields.

According to her, her body was found the next morning on a sugarcane estate.8 officers now make up the police unit, and more officers are now on patrol around the city.

The Bareilly City Superintendent of Police stated that the reason of some of the women’s deaths will be determined after receiving the postmortem reports.
