Prabhas starrer Salaar: Part-1 Ceasefire has released today and it is going to clash with Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki which hit the theatres yesterday. While Dunki earned Rs. 30 crore on its opening day which is quite low in comparison to SRK’s earlier releases, Pathaan and Jawan, Salaar is expected to earn around Rs. 95 crore on the opening day.
The hype around Salaar was so high that it earned Rs. 48.94 crore in the advance booking which is the highest for any movie of 2023.
While Dunki is directed by Rajkumar Hirani who has given blockbusters such as Munna Bhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munna Bhai and Sanju, Salaar has been directed by KGF 2 fame Prashanth Neel.
Dunki stars some big names of Hindi Cinema such as Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu, Satish Shah, etc. and Salaar also has a great cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Hassan, Jagapathi Babu and Tinnu Anand.
Though both the movies are clashing at the box-office, Prithviraj Sukumaran is quite optimistic about both the films as he said in an interview, “It’s a holiday season, and we are all film lovers. We’re getting to see a Rajkumar Hirani-Shah Rukh Khan’s film and a Prashanth Neel-Prabhas film. What a fantastic sign-off for a grand 2023 it would be if both the films go on to become blockbusters.”
