Coffee Lovers: Here Are 5 Unique Ways Of Preparing Coffee

The art of brewing coffee has evolved into a unique blend of 5 distinct techniques for preparing it, each one providing its own distinctive aroma and flavour profile.

Here’s 5 ways in which you can experience the world of beverages with a perfect cup of coffee. Brewing coffee has progressed beyond a basic energy booster to an artistic expression, as each method produces its own distinct aroma and taste.

The art of brewing coffee transcends the ordinary, as it offers a harmonious blend of flavours that can be controlled. Devanshi Tripathi, founder of North Star Cafe, shared with HT Lifestyle that there are many ways to turn humble coffee beans into an extraordinary beverage, including drip brewing, espresso, pour-over, AeroPress, cold brew, single-serve brewed, and multifarious.

She outlined 3 distinct methods of coffee making –

1. Drip Coffee: Is the classic, effortless method. A coffee maker and ground coffee are all that is needed. Put the filter into basket, add your coffee grounds, pour in some water and let the machine run. A fresh, hot cup of coffee awaits you in a matter of minutes.

2. French Press: It’s a bit of pizazz here but worth the rich, full-bodied taste. Start by boiling water, then pour your coarse coffee grounds into the French press. Add the water, stir it up, and let it steep for about four minutes. Then, use the plunger and slowly lower it until you’re ready to start.

3. Pour Over: If you’re after a more controlled beer, the pour-over is your choice. A pour-over cone, a filter, and ground coffee are all necessary. Put the cone onto your mug, add the filter and coffee grounds, then pour hot water over the grounds in a circular motion. This allows you to control the taste and aroma of your coffee.

Adding to the list of innovative coffee preparation techniques, Pankaj Rautela, Co-Founder of Agastya Cafe & Homestay, said:

1. By using air pressure to extract flavors from finely ground coffee, the AeroPress coffee brewing device is a portable and versatile tool that has adapted to its unique profile.

2. A visually impressive process is used in the Siphon (Vacuum Pot), which utilizes two chambers, one for water and the other to grind coffee grounds. As the heat builds up, coffee grounds and water move into the upper chamber due to vapor pressure. The brewed coffee is returned to the lower chamber through filtering after being left over due to low heat, resulting in an attractive cup with a unique process of brewing water, steeping, and filter-out.
