Amit Malviya, a BJP leader and the head of the party’s I-T department, has
been the target of a police report (FIR) in Bengaluru. A Congressman’s
complaint led to the filing of the FIR.
Malviya’s complaint was filed as a result of his tweet on Rahul Gandhi, the
leader of the Congress. Ramesh Babu, a Congress lawmaker from
Karnataka, launched a lawsuit against Malviya as a result of this tweet.
Tejasvi Surya, a member of the BJP in parliament, reacted angrily to the
news, accusing Congress of being “politically motivated” in this case.
Malviya had posted on his social media account that “Rahul Gandhi is
dangerous and playing an insidious game.” Former Congressman Ramesh
Babu filed a complaint, which led to the filing of the FIR.
BJP MP Tejasvi Surya responded by claiming that the FIR was “politically
motivated” in response to the development.
“Amit Malviya was the target of a politically motivated FIR. For his claimed
comments against Rahul Gandhi, the case was filed under sections 153A
and 505(2) of the IPC, Surya tweeted.
Both of the aforementioned parts discuss encouraging animosity amongst
groups. Rahul Gandhi, then, what is he? a person, a team, or a class?
Justice will be upheld by our legal challenge of this, he continued.
After Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge claimed that the BJP had a
history of “crying” whenever it faced the law, Tejasvi Surya responded.
“The BJP always cries when the law is applied harshly. They struggle to
uphold the law of the land. Which portion of the FIR was submitted with a
false aim, I want to know from the BJP? We did it after obtaining legal
counsel.” Prior Kharge
