“Convert Karne Ki Koshish”, Salim Khan Opens On Why Salman Khan Is Not Getting Married

Salman Khan has been a dominant force in Bollywood for decades, capturing the hearts of fans not only with his films but also his personal life. One topic that continues to intrigue fans is his decision to remain unmarried, despite high-profile relationships with actresses like Katrina Kaif, Somy Ali, and Sangeeta Bijlani. At 59, the actor has yet to tie the knot.

In a past conversation with Komal Nahta, Salman’s father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, shared his thoughts on why his son has remained single. According to Salim, Salman’s mindset contains contradictions that may explain his reluctance to marry. “Salman ka pata nahi kya hai… Salman ki ek toh is wajah se bhi shaadi nahi hoti hai ki thoda sa contradiction bhi hai Salman ki thinking main,” he remarked.

Salim elaborated that Salman tends to be drawn to the actresses he works with. He explained that working closely with attractive and talented people on film sets naturally fosters connections. “Salman ka lagao ya mohabbat… he’s attracted to the person jiske saath kaam karte hain. They are very exciting, good-looking people. Interaction hota hai kaam karte karte. People come close because voh close atmosphere main rehte hain. Toh 90 per cent of the time jo uss film ki heroine hi hoti hai voh,” Salim said.

However, Salim khan noted a pattern in Salman’s relationships—he seeks qualities reminiscent of his mother in his partners. This, Salim believes, creates unrealistic expectations, particularly for women who are career-focused. He criticized Salman’s tendency to expect such women to abandon their ambitions for domestic life, saying, “Why should one deprive her ki main shaadi karke ghar baitha doonga? Uska vahi hota hai.”

Salim further explained, “Jab commitment ho jaata hai toh voh usko convert karne ki koshish karta hai, usme apni maa dhoondta hai. Voh toh possible nahi hai.” He pointed out that actresses balancing careers would not necessarily engage in daily family activities like taking children to school or preparing meals.

A clip of Salim Khan’s remarks recently resurfaced on social media, sparking renewed discussions about Salman Khan’s single status. Meanwhile, on the professional front, Salman is gearing up for his next project, Sikandar, where he will star alongside Rashmika Mandanna.
