CT 2025: “Not Decided”, BCCI Secretary On Rohit Sharma Visiting Pakistan For Media Programs

Secretary Devajit Saikia has stated that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to decide whether Rohit Sharma will participate in the International Cricket Council (ICC) media engagements scheduled in Pakistan ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy.

While Pakistan is hosting the tournament, political tensions between the two nations have led to India’s matches being relocated to the UAE.
Despite this shift, ICC plans to conduct pre-tournament events, including the captain’s day, in Pakistan. These events typically involve team captains posing with the trophy and addressing the media. With the BCCI citing security concerns as the reason for India’s team not traveling to Pakistan, speculation has arisen about whether Rohit Sharma will attend the media engagements.

Speaking on the matter, Saikia clarified that no decision has been made regarding Rohit’s participation. He added that discussions are ongoing, with the possibility of moving the pre-tournament formalities to the UAE to accommodate India. However, such a move would pose logistical challenges, and a final decision is expected closer to the tournament dates.
