CT2025: Big Blow To India’s Campaign As Rohit Sharma Is Injured & A Star Batter Is Sick

As the Champions Trophy moves into its decisive phase, concerns have emerged for Team India, with captain and star opener Rohit Sharma reportedly struggling with a hamstring injury. The setback occurred during India’s much-anticipated clash against Pakistan in Dubai last Sunday, forcing Rohit to leave the field temporarily.

Despite the discomfort, Rohit Sharma returned to open the innings and contributed a brisk 20 off 15 balls, helping India chase down their target with ease at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. However, a report from Cricbuzz suggests that Rohit has since refrained from participating in India’s rigorous batting session. At 37, he opted out of training to prevent any further strain, keeping in mind the challenges that lie ahead.

With a semifinal spot already secured, India is set to face New Zealand in their final Group A encounter. The outcome of this match will determine the group topper, adding further significance to the contest.

Adding to India’s concerns, vice-captain and opening batter Shubman Gill was also absent from the practice session. Unlike Rohit, Gill’s absence was due to illness, after his stellar century in India’s opening game of the tournament. He chose to remain indoors, leaving the team management hoping for a swift recovery ahead of the crucial knockout stages.
