The Indian cricket fans and former cricketers are finding it difficult to believe that Rohit Sharma-led Indian team got defeated in the finals of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 especially after the Indian team remained unbeaten in the whole tournament excluding the final.
The final was played on 19 Nov at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad and the Australian team defeated team India by 6 wickets and became the World Champion for the sixth time.
After the match, Mohammed Kaif stated on a show that he can’t accept that the best team has won the World Cup and he further added that the Indian team is the best team on paper.
Now the Aussie opener David Warner has shed his opinion on this statement as he took to X and reacted to a tweet regarding Kaif’s statement, “I like MK, issue is it does not matter what’s on paper. At the end of the day you need to perform when it matters. That’s why they call it a final. That’s the day that counts and it can go either way, that’s sports. 2027 here we come”
The Indian team certainly ruled the tournament but it fumbled on the last day of the World Cup 2023.
