Delhi Police Special Cell suspects Manoranjan D of masterminding the Parliament security breach. Manoranjan D is one of six arrested for the breach.
A source close to the investigation said the Delhi Police Special Cell suspects Manoranjan D, one of six people arrested in the Parliament security breach, of masterminding the scheme to send a message to the ruling party by doing ‘something significant.’
Lalit Jha, another accused, told investigators that Manoranjan inspired other members to do something major and organized the parliament break.
Jha’s part was solely to erase evidence after the act. Manoranjan and Sagar were detained in parliament on December 13.
Both jumped into Lok Sabha and opened shoe-hidden yellow canisters.
Manoranjan, from Mysore, resigned engineering to work in social services. The source says he visited Cambodia while unemployed.
Jha appeared in court on Friday and was sentenced to 14 days in police prison.
Police told the court they needed to confront Jha with other defendants and gather scientific and digital evidence.
The source said Jha informed authorities that Manoranjan sent him and others WhatsApp tickets to Mysore, Karnataka, a year ago.
Another cop said that the doctors began psychoanalysis on all six on Friday. The accused were tested in a forensic lab to help interrogators determine their mental state, the person added.
The accused told police they were furious about unemployment, the agricultural situation, and Manipur.
Police claimed their sequence and cause for their act inside and outside Parliament are unknown.
