Following IPL 2023’s record-breaking viewership for Disney Star, Disney+ Hotstar has chosen to remove the barrier for its mobile subscribers just for these two matches. The company says over 540 million Indian mobile customers may watch the Asia Cup and ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup for free.
The decision to make Disney+ Hotstar free is said to be made in an effort to “democratize the game of cricket,” according to the official statement. By doing this, the business hopes to increase mobile consumers’ access to both cricket and the streaming service Disney+ Hotstar in India.
