Dipika Kakar, a beloved figure in Indian television best known for her performance in Sasural Simar Ka, has revealed that she is battling stage 2 liver cancer. The actress shared the deeply personal and emotional news through an Instagram post, recounting the difficult weeks leading up to her diagnosis.
She began by describing the initial signs of her illness, which started with severe pain in the upper region of her stomach. This prompted a visit to the hospital, where doctors discovered a tumour described by Dipika as being “the size of a tennis ball.” Further tests confirmed the tumour was cancerous and had reached the second stage.
“As you all are aware last few weeks have been quite difficult for us… walking into the hospital for a pain in the upper area of my stomach… and then finding out its a tennis ball size tumour in the liver and then Finding out that the tumour is Second stage Malignant (Cancerous) … it has been one of the most difficult time we have seen, experienced!” she wrote, capturing the shock and emotional toll of the diagnosis.
Despite the daunting reality she faces, Dipika Kakar is holding on to optimism. In the same post, she expressed her resilience and determination to fight through this health crisis. “I am all positive and determined to face this and walk out stronger InshaAllah! With my entire family being by my side … and All the LOVE and PRAYERS pouring in from all of you I will sail through this too!” she stated.
Ending her message on a hopeful note, she reached out to her followers with heartfelt gratitude and a humble request. “InshaAllah, Keep me in your prayers! Lots Of Love. Dipika.”
