Music maestro AR Rahman and his wife Saira Banu have officially announced their decision to separate, marking the end of their long marriage. Hours after this announcement, bassist Mohini Dey also revealed her separation from her husband, Mark Hartsuch. These simultaneous announcements led to speculation about a possible link between the two.
However, recent clarifications have dismissed any connection between Rahman’s divorce and Mohini Dey’s personal decision.
Vandana Shah, Saira Banu’s lawyer, categorically denied any association between the divorces. In a statement to a portal, she said, “There is no connection at all. Saira and Mr Rahman made this decision on their own.”
Vandana Shah emphasized that Rahman and Saira’s decision was a mutual one, reflecting maturity and mutual respect.
Reflecting on the split, Vandana Shah shared insights into the couple’s decision, “Every long marriage goes through ups and downs, and I am extremely happy that if it has come to an end, it has done so in a dignified manner. Both Rahman and Saira will continue to support each other and wish each other well.”
This graceful handling of their separation has been commended by fans and well-wishers. The coincidental timing of Mohini Dey’s announcement raised eyebrows, but the clarifications have laid all rumors to rest. Both Rahman and Mohini Dey’s situations appear to be personal and unrelated.
