The former Pakistani cricketers and Pak cricket fans are angry and hurt after their team lost an ODI match against Afghanistan which was played yesterday at Chepauk Stadium. The Pakistani team is hunting for a win desperately as now they have lost the last three matches after winning the first two matches and now their chances of playing semi-finals will depend a lot on the result of their next four matches.
After the match, former Pak cricketer Shoaib Akhtar took to X and talked about the team’s performance and he also slammed PCB for not focusing on the development of the game.
Shoaib Akhtar said, “You can’t say much after watching this performance. Please put the right man in the right place for God sake. Anyone is becoming chairman, for how long will we keep supporting mediocrity? You will keep putting the average people at the helm, you will keep receiving such average performances.”
He further said, “This is the true reflection of the PCB what is being shown now on the television today. This is the direct impact of the choices you have made for the past 20-30 years in cricket. This is the end result, you are getting.”
Shaoib Akhtar asked if there is any cricketer who can inspire the young generation. He said, “Tell me one thing if this team has one inspiring cricketer. I have seen the likes of Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram, Imran Khan, Steve Waugh, Allan Border, and Viv Richards. Which cricketer in the Pakistan team is inspiring enough for kids to pick up the sport? Why do people still watch our videos? We were inspiring the generation.”
He also asked Babar Azam to improve his game and also suggested him to bring some players in the team to bring better results.
