The Kutch Rann Utsav is an age-old traditional event celebrated only for two days till the 90’s. However, Mr Modi the then Chief Minister of Gujarat in order to promote economic growth through tourism in backward regions like Kutch, marketed Rann’s most unique feature– its salt desert come alive with diamond-like brightness on moonlit nights, along with its exquisite arts, crafts, music, dance and unique architecture through a grand 4-months long tourist event “The Rann Utsav”.
Rann Utsav, the unique cultural extravaganza can be experienced by tourists in the winter months- October to February. Visitors get to live in the spectacular & luxurious tent city put up by the Tourism department with all modern amenities.
