Don’t Watch Pushpa 2”, Ram Gopal Varma’s Blunt Response On Ticket Price Hike Row

Film director Ram Gopal Varma, known for his bold and often controversial opinions, has weighed in on the ongoing debate over the high ticket prices for Allu Arjun’s blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rule, which hit theaters on Thursday

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Varma used an analogy involving a luxury idli hotel to justify the premium pricing of the film’s tickets. He argued that just as customers willingly pay for a seven-star dining experience, Pushpa 2 deserves its high price tag for delivering a “seven-star quality” cinematic experience.

RGV addressed the critics of the ticket pricing, stating that if someone finds the cost too high, they simply shouldn’t watch the movie. Emphasizing that films are made for profit rather than public service, he explained, “If a plate of idli is priced at Rs 1,000 in ‘Subbarao Hotel,’ and you compare it to a seven-star hotel, then don’t go watch Pushpa 2 either,” Varma quipped.

He also compared the situation to consumers who continue buying luxury and branded goods despite rising prices for basic essentials. He joked that Pushpa 2 ticket prices have similarly increased, reflecting its premium value.

Varma’s remarks highlight the ongoing debate about the cost of entertainment versus its perceived value. For fans of Allu Arjun and the Pushpa franchise, the film promises a high-octane, visually stunning experience that justifies the premium pricing for tickets.
