Dulquer Salmaan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Lucky Bhaskar, following a period of reflection and recovery. The actor’s previous film, King of Kotha (2023), received a mixed response at the box office, leading him to take a break due to health concerns. In a recent interaction, Dulquer opened up about this phase, stating, “I needed a short break. It’s nobody’s fault; some films fell through. I also faced health issues. Last year, I was able to do only one film. Perhaps that was my fault; I didn’t pay enough attention to my health”
Dulquer also spoke about his father, the legendary actor Mammootty, and his continued passion for acting, even after decades in the industry. He shared a story about how Mammootty is always immersed in his characters, explaining, “My father is always thinking about his characters and movies, even when he’s at home. One day, he suddenly snapped his fingers and said, ‘I got it.’ I asked what, and he replied, ‘My character.’ He was talking about the movie he was going to start shooting in a few weeks. He has a one-track mind.”
Apart from King of Kotha, Dulquer made a cameo appearance in the Telugu sci-fi film Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, which starred Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone.
Lucky Bhaskar, directed by Venky Atluri, marks Dulquer’s third film in Telugu. The movie is being produced by Sithara Entertainment in collaboration with Fortune Four Cinemas and will release in multiple languages, including Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi. Fans are eagerly awaiting his performance, as Dulquer continues to make his mark across various film industries.
