DYK Salman Khan Keeps Just 10% Of His Income & Gives The Rest To Charity?

Salman Khan, one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, enjoys a massive fan following across the country, not just for his cinematic success but also for his generous philanthropy. Over the years, Salman has earned widespread acclaim for his numerous charitable initiatives, solidifying his legacy as a humanitarian. At one point, the Bollywood Bhaijaan revealed that he donates a significant portion of his income to charity, keeping only 10 percent for himself.

In an old episode of Aap Ki Adalat, he said, “Ye sach hai ki main sirf 10 per cent ko hi haath lagata hu. Baaki ka jo paisa hai wo jaata hai charity ke andar, but it’s not like 90 per cent of it goes to charity. A lot of money goes to charity (It is true that I only touch 10 per cent of my income. The rest of the money goes to charity but it’s not 90 per cent).”

He further explained that many people seek help from his foundation, Being Human, adding that his father and veteran screenwriter Salim Khan often signs numerous cheques to assist them.

Salman’s philanthropic efforts extend beyond this. He is India’s first bone marrow donor, having donated his bone marrow in 2010 to save the life of a young girl in need of a transplant. His NGO has been deeply involved in various charitable activities, from supporting underprivileged children across India to adopting villages, highlighting his compassion. Additionally, Salman auctions his paintings and donates the proceeds to charity.

That is really great!
