Effective Tips for a Less Stressful Life

Avoiding stress is the sureshot way to longevity – Well! It is easier said than done, isn’t it? A stressful job, hectic schedule, chaotic home life, overdue bills that need to be paid; all these can lead to a lot of stress. If you are also experiencing some of these, here are a few simple changes that can make your life a lot easier and managable.

Take up one thing at a time – Focus on one task at a time to reduce your stress considerably. Clear your work station of unnecessary distractions. If you need to write a report, do only that. Ignore emails and whattsapp messages for the time and finish writing. You’ll definitely feel the urge to check all notifications but you will learn to focus with practice. The key is to start today.

Stay Organized – Simplify your daily schedule by limiting the things that need to be done that day. Do the essential ones first and say No to the rest. Schedule only as many meetings in a day as is easily possuble to accomplish. Keep a gap between two meetings to reach the other one on time. Leave the meeting if it is not essential and try to incorporate some time for yourself.

Follow a Fitness Regime – The idea here is to do some physical activity every day- It can be anything from a walk, cycling, tennis, swimming or simply stretching. It doesn’t have to be tiring, just enjoy what you do.

Simplify your Finances – Finances and mounting bills can increase your stress levels, so figure out ways to simplify thing. Automate all bill payments, loans and savings. Spend lesser than how much you can afford and you’ll never be short of money.

Be an Early Bird – Being late can be a cause of stress, so be early for meetings and appointments to remain calm and composed. No harm in reaching a little early. Carry a book to read if you have time on your hand.

Chronic stress can lead to health problems such as depression, weight gain, heart problems etc. so make your life less stressful before it is too late.
