Ekta Kapoor has finally put an end to all speculation by confirming that Naagin 7 is on its way. On the occasion of Eid, she took to her Instagram stories to share a video where she was seen discussing upcoming plans with her team.
“It’s Eid. Happy Eid. Eid Mubarak. I have to give an Eidi to everyone,” Ekta said before turning to her team and inquiring about the much-anticipated next installment of Naagin. “They want to know where is Naagin 7,” she asked. One of her team members responded with the assurance that Naagin 7 is “on the way,” to which Ekta excitedly added, “Coming soon. Very soon.”
This announcement comes amid strong rumors that actress Isha Malviya is set to be the next Naagin. In February this year, a news portal reported that Isha is in talks to take on the lead role in Ekta Kapoor’s supernatural thriller. Known for her performances in Udaariyaan and Bigg Boss 17, Isha is reportedly being considered by the makers, and an official confirmation is expected soon.
The Naagin franchise first premiered in 2015 with Mouni Roy, Adaa Khan, and Arjun Bijlani in the lead, instantly becoming a fan favorite. The second season saw Mouni returning, though Arjun was replaced by Karanvir Bohra. In 2018, Naagin made a grand comeback with its third season, featuring Surbhi Jyoti, Pearl V Puri, Anita Hassanandani, and Rajat Tokas.
For its fourth season in 2020, the show took a different approach, introducing a new title, Naagin: Bhagya Ka Zehreela Khel, and casting Nia Sharma and Vijayendra Kumeria in lead roles. However, this installment failed to match the success of its predecessors and saw a dip in TRP ratings. The fifth season, which aired from August 2020 to February 2021, starred Surbhi Chandna, Sharad Malhotra, and Mohit Sehgal.
With Naagin 7 officially confirmed, fans are eagerly awaiting more details on the cast and storyline. Given the legacy of the show, expectations are high for its return to television screens.
