Asus has formally announced that the much-awaited ROG Phone 9 series will go on sale on November 19. With the state-of-the-art Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, this new range of gaming smartphones promises improved performance specifically designed for gamers.
A hands-on video and purported renderings of the Asus ROG Phone 9 and ROG Phone 9 Pro have been leaked before the unveiling. With a flat frame and a triple-camera arrangement on the back, both models seem to have kept the recognizable boxy look of their predecessors.
According to a recent rumor from 91Mobiles, the ROG Phone 9 Pro has been shown in a sleek black finish with a textured back panel similar to other versions in the series. The gadget has a flat display with a centrally located hole-punch cutout for the front-facing camera. On the rear, a little camera bump in the top-left corner houses three camera sensors and an LED flash.
The story also discusses the phone’s accessories, such as the AeroActive Cooler X, which mounts to the handset’s back. This cooling dock not only makes charging easier but also helps with thermal management during prolonged gaming sessions. Furthermore, the ROG Phone 9 Pro is seen with a protective cover with raised edges for additional durability.
In a second leak, YouTuber GadgetsBoy demonstrated the regular ROG Phone 9 (via Gadgets 360). The video showcases the retail package, which includes an angled camera bump and a distinctive textured rear panel. Early impressions indicate that this version may have a more quality construction than the present ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro.
Asus showcased the new smartphones at the Snapdragon Summit earlier this week, emphasizing the unique AniMe display. The startup is likely to use artificial intelligence technologies to improve the game experience; however, particular specifics remain unknown.
