Ex-Aussie Coach Makes Big Remark About Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli’s Retirement

Darren Lehmann, former head coach of Australia and a two-time World Cup winner as a player, believes that Indian cricket has found a generational superstar in Yashasvi Jaiswal. He is confident the sport in India will remain strong even after veterans Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma choose to retire.

The 54-year-old expressed that India has no reason to worry about the future, as the next generation is ready to take over.

“Whenever they decide to step away, they’ve been exceptional players for India over a long period,” Lehmann said in an interview with PTI.

He acknowledged the emergence of young talent in Indian cricket, emphasizing the country’s impressive depth. “Now, we’re seeing younger players stepping up and performing well at the highest level. There’s so much talent in Indian cricket that I wouldn’t worry too much,” he remarked.

Lehmann further added, “When Kohli and Sharma eventually retire, the abundance of talented youngsters will ensure Indian cricket remains in great shape.”

He certainly makes sense as majority of the cricket fans believe that both the senior cricketers have passed their prime.
