Ex-Pak Cricketer Claims India Can’t Form Team Without These Two Players

India secured a commanding win over Bangladesh in the first Test in Chennai, thanks to the stellar performances of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. The duo forged a crucial 199-run partnership in the first innings, where Ashwin reached a century and Jadeja contributed a brilliant 86. In the second innings, the two were equally impactful with the ball, taking nine wickets between them.

Former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal lauded Ashwin and Jadeja’s contributions, calling their partnership “match-winning”. He emphasized the duo’s importance to India’s Test team, particularly in home conditions, stating, “Without these two players, India can’t form a Test playing XI at home. They are big performers.”

Akmal also praised Rishabh Pant for his outstanding century in the second innings. After scoring 39 in the first innings, Pant registered his sixth Test century in the second, showcasing his resilience. Akmal acknowledged the role of the medical team, saying, “I salute the medical panel and the trainer who brought him back to the field,” appreciating Pant’s comeback and remarkable performance.

The Indian team certainly deserves to be praised.
