Mohammad Hafeez,

One of the biggest matches of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is being played currently at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad and for the last couple of days, we were hearing many discussions regarding the teams, their past record in the ODI World Cup, the in-form players and the pitch as well.

Recently, during a panel discussion, the former Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Hafeez raised questions on the pitch on which India-Pakistan match will be played. While speaking on the program, he said, “Kal ye faisla hoga ki ye tournament ICC kara raha hai ya BCCI” (Tomorrow it will be confirmed whether ICC is conducting this tournament or BCCI).

He elaborated further, “So far, three venues have hosted two games each – Hyderabad, Delhi and Dharamsala. The pitch conditions were similar. If the track in Ahmedabad behaves like the Chennai strip where India defeated Australia, then it won’t be difficult to understand. But if you get to see any change, then you will also know who is conducting the World Cup.”

Mohd. Hafeez further said, “This is an ICC tournament and the pitches are curated as per the guidelines given by it. If the track behaves in a similar way, I can understand that. But if it acts differently, then it would be a big question mark”.

Here is the video clip in which you can hear Mohd. Hafeez questioning the pitch:

What do you think of the allegations leveled by Mohd. Hafeez?
