Amul is one of the biggest brands of the country and currently it is making headlines because of an image of its product which is going viral. The image is being circulated on social media platforms and messaging platforms such as WhatsApp, etc.
The product is Amul Cheese and it is being marketed as “Sharam” which means shame. The packet is of mustard yellow color with text written in English and Urdu and it is being shared with a caption that is inspired from a Hindi phrase, “Sharam naam ki bhi koi cheese hoti hai!”
However, now Amul has clarified that the image has been created using AI and it has no association with their brand.
They issued a statement which read, “We notice in the post that the pack has been developed using AI (artificial intelligence) and is using the Amul brand name poorly and is disparaging. We wish to assure you that the pack shown in this post is not Amul Cheese. This post has been used to create misinformation and spread unnecessary fear and concern among consumers.”
