Fan Shouts, “Rohit Sharma Ko Wapas Lao” In IPL2024 Auctions, MI Owner Akash Ambani Reacts

Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma’s fans are quite unhappy with the IPL franchise Mumbai Indians as they have removed Rohit Sharma from the captaincy of MI and appointed Hardik Pandya as the new skipper of MI.

Hardik Pandya was traded off in an all-cash deal from Gujarat Titans and his record as a skipper has been excellent. Hardik Pandya led GT in two seasons and in both the seasons, the team played the finals and also won the tournament in their debut season.

Rohit Sharma was appointed as the skipper of MI in the IPL 2013 when he took the reins from Ricky Ponting midway and since then, he has developed MI as one of the best teams as they have won the IPL titles 5 times under his captaincy.

Fans have left no stone unturned in slamming MI, many have started unfollowing the franchise on social media platforms and for the past few days, trends such as #RIPMumbaiIndians, #ShameonMI, etc. are trending on X (formerly Twitter).

One upset fan of Hitman was also present in the Coca-Cola arena, Dubai in the auctions for the IPL 2024 and during the break, he shouted, “Rohit Sharma ko wapas lao” (Bring Rohit Sharma back). The fan was demanding that Rohit Sharma should be made the skipper of the team once again and the owner of MI, Akash Ambani gave a cool reply as he said, “Chinta mat karo. Woh batting karega” (Don’t worry, he will bat).

What do you think of this decision of MI?
