When Farah Khan’s father died, she had just Rs 30 which was not much money for his funeral. In her numerous television appearances, the famed Bollywood choreographer has spoken up about her troubles and losing her father while they were destitute.
Farah Khan will be on Bigg Boss 16 in the upcoming episode to celebrate her birthday alongside brother Sajid Khan. She will also communicate with the participants and give them amusing titles. Shiv Thakare, Abdu Rozik, and MC Stan, whom she referred to as her “new-found brothers,” would have an emotional moment with her.
Farah Khan had a terrible upbringing, when she, Sajid, and their mother had to struggle financially following their father’s death, behind the laughing smile and filmy attitude. Sajid Khan said in one of Bigg Boss 16 episodes that their father Kamran was a film director and that they were well-off. However, after a film did not do well, their lives took a severe turn. He drowned himself in booze after losing all of his funds in the film, which caused health difficulties.
When he died, the family didn’t even have enough money for his funeral. Sajid Khan revealed that they travelled to the homes of their relatives, and it was Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan, who eventually handed them money. They not only completed the final rituals with dignity, but they also purchased rations for a few days.
During an episode of Indian Idol 13, Farah Khan also recounted her experience of not having a roof over their heads. They stayed in a store room at a relative’s house for six years, according to the choreographer-filmmaker. She also stated that she is irritated when others refer to them as privileged.
She sobbed as she stated that when their father died, they only had Rs 30 with them and had to fight to wish him farewell. Sajid Khan revealed in another Bigg Boss 16 episode how he and Farah used to dance on Juhu beach to make money. Farah was given the opportunity to help choreographers since she was a great dancer.
The choreographer did not show up for the Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar shoot in Ooty, therefore she was asked to direct the “Pehla Nasha” song. That’s how she got her first film, and she’s never looked back since.
Farah Khan made her directorial debut with Main Hoon Na after receiving praise as a choreographer. Om Shanti Om, Happy New Year, and Tees Maar Khan are among her other films. She has also hosted and judged major reality television series.
