India and Pakistan Rivalry in cricket has happened since decade but the ice breaking truth happened in the cricket world let us know who is the man behind this miracle.
During the partition People of one country parted into two other countries such as Pakistan and Bangladesh. India entered in cricket through test match in 1932.
later, after few years new nation was born that is Pakistan in 1952. when Pakistan entered in cricket world they knew the oldest form of game.
Not only political but there were also border tensions.During the war in Kargil, India and Pakistan were facing off in the 1999 World Cup. But India won both the war, and world cup too.
Muslim families crossed over to Pakistan but Muslim players also represented India.After 5 years when Pakistan entered Test matches some of them would turn up to play for their new country. We have found those men who have had distinction of representing both India and Pakistan at Test level. they are
- Gul Mohammad, he played 8 Tests for India. He was a great fielder and also a kabaddi player also a swimmer. After partition he settled in Pakistan. He played his last appearance game in
- It was the only match he played for Pakistan. he finally called time on his career in 1959.
- Abdul Kardar made his debut in India 1946. He was a future talent and played well for our country. But Politics strategies had diffrent plans
so he shifted allegiances. In 1952 he became Pakistan’s first Test captain and played against India. Interestingly Gul was playing in the Indian side. He was a superb batsman. - Amir Elahi was a terrific leg break bowler for Indian team in 1947. He would play 5 more Tests with Pakistan. Imagine if partition did not happen then all these guys could have played for India. One could wonder how it would have been to have Imran Khan and Kapil Dev playing together or maybe Wasim Akram and Sachin Tendulkar.
