“Ganpati Bappa Morya”- It’s Festival time all around India, especially in the state of Maharashtra where Ganesh Festival celebrations are in full swing. According to Hindu scriptures, every auspicious occasion and ritual should start praying first to Lord Ganesh- The deity of fortune, prosperity, and wisdom.

Lalbaugcha Raja
Location –Near Lalbagh Police Station in Lalbagh Bazaar of Central Mumbai.
About – One of the oldest and the most revered and popular Ganesh idols in Mumbai. Established in 1934, this iconic pandal attracts millions of devotees including Bollywood celebrities each year as it is believed that the king of Lalbaugcha fulfils the wishes of its followers, earning it the title “Navsacha Ganpati” or the “Ganpati of Wishes.”
USP– The majestic idol is 18-20 feet tall and made in a unique design which is patented. For almost 89 years, the Kambli family has been constructing the idol.
GSB Seva Mandal’s Ganpati
Location-King’s Circle
About – Organised by the Goud Saraswat Brahmin community, the pandal is celebrated for its adherence to traditional rituals and cultural performances that preserve and promote the rich heritage of the community.
USP– Known as the richest Ganpati in Mumbai, GSB Seva Mandal’s Ganpati is made entirely of clay and always decorated with kilos of pure gold and silver.
Chinchpoklicha Chintamani
Location– Dattaram Lad Marg, Outside Chinchpokli Station
About– Chinchpokli Cha Raja is again among the oldest Ganesh pandals established in 1920. It’s famous for its thematic decoration. The idol is renowned for its elegant design and serene expression, attracting devotees seeking peace and blessings.
USP– The divinity of the idol, and its spiritual ambience, makes it a favourite among locals and devotees
Khetwadi Cha Ganraj
Location– 12th Lane Khetwadi, Girgaum, South Mumbai
About- The most appealing statue of Ganesh in South Mumbai, the event is organised by ‘Sarvajanik Shree Ganeshotsav Khetwadi Mandal’ since 1970. Every community including Parsi, Marathi, Hindus, Christians, and Muslims mark this huge celebration. It is also a livinglegacy of Lokmanya Tilak’s huge initiative to foster unity through Ganeshotsav Celebration.
USP- Tallest Ganesh idol statue (40 feet or above), and breadth-taking decoration. The Ganesh idol’s shape hasn’t changed over the years!
