Gautam Adani has won the ‘Dharavi Slum’ redevelopment project. The business tycoon’s Adani Group’s bid was Rs 5,069 crore, while DLF’s bid was Rs 2,025 crore.
Asia’s largest slum, Dharavi, Mumbai, will be redeveloped by Gautam Adani’s company. Adani Realty, a subsidiary of the Adani Group, has won the bid for the Dharavi slum rejuvenation project, outbidding all other bidders.
The Maharashtra government opened the bids received for the Dharavi redevelopment project on Tuesday, 29 November, in which many eminent personalities participated. According to information given by SVR Srinivas, CEO of the project, ‘Three bids were received for this, out of which one of Naman Group’s bid could not qualify in the bidding. After this the government opened the bids of DLF, and Adani Realty.
Adani Group, led by Gautam Adani, has bid more than twice as much as DLF for this project. According to the newspaper, Adani’s offer for Dharavi redevelopment was Rs 5,069 crore, while DLF’s bid was Rs 2,025 crore.
Let us remind you that the Dharavi slum covers an area of 2.5 square kilometers, for which the government has set a seven-year deadline.
In fact, the government has done extensive planning for this. The government had chosen to improve the slum area by forming a partnership with a corporation. The Dharavi reconstruction project would greatly assist the area’s slum people. The administration has made a significant step toward bettering Mumbai.
People living in Dharavi’s slums will receive free dwellings as part of this initiative, which will improve their level of living.The first phase of construction is projected to be finished in 7 years following the issuance of the Commencement Certificate.
