Star Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell took the crease at No. 5 for Punjab Kings in their IPL 2025 match against Gujarat Titans on Tuesday, March 25, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
However, his stay at the wicket was short-lived as he was dismissed for a golden duck by R Sai Kishore. Attempting a reverse sweep, Maxwell failed to connect with the ball and was trapped in front of the wickets.
This dismissal marked Glenn Maxwell 19th duck in IPL history, placing him at the top of the undesirable list of batters with the most zero scores in the tournament. The Australian cricketer has now accumulated 19 ducks in 135 IPL matches, surpassing two prominent Indian players.
Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik, both well-established names in Indian cricket, trail closely behind Maxwell with 18 ducks each in the world’s richest franchise cricket league. This latest record adds another statistical milestone to Maxwell’s IPL journey, albeit one he would prefer to avoid.
