Legendary Australian pacer Glenn McGrath believes Jasprit Bumrah’s outstanding performance in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series has been instrumental in preventing the five-match contest from becoming heavily one-sided in Australia’s favor.

Jasprit Bumrah has been the standout bowler of the series, claiming 30 wickets at a phenomenal average of 12.83. Despite his brilliance, India has struggled with poor batting performances and a lack of cohesive plans, leaving them trailing 1-2 in the series.

“He has been a massive part of the Indian team, and without him, the series might have been more one-sided. What he does is truly special,” McGrath remarked during a media interaction at a cancer awareness event organized by his foundation.

The 54-year-old, who was one of the most feared fast bowlers of his era, has been deeply involved in cancer awareness initiatives since losing his wife to the disease in 2008. While closely following the series, McGrath expressed admiration for Bumrah’s exceptional skill and impact with the ball.

As the series approaches its final stage, McGrath’s words underscore Bumrah’s importance in maintaining a competitive edge for India, even amid the team’s broader struggles.
