Royal Challengers Bangalore is currently going through a tough phase as it is sitting at the bottom of the points table with just one win in six matches and its chances of playing in the play-offs are bleak now.
RCB is one of those few IPL teams which have been associated with RCB since 2008, the inaugural edition of the tournament and it has played finals three times but has not managed to win the trophy even once.
Recently, former England cricketer Michael Vaughan slammed RCB as he said that they can buy some big names of the cricket world but that doesn’t guarantee that they will win the IPL. He said, “What I like about the fact the RCB have never won is it proves to me that team sport is not just about individuals. You can go and buy all the biggest individual names and put them into a team but it doesn’t mean you’re going to win and it’s been proven at the RCB.”
He further revealed why RCB winning the IPL trophy seems a very difficult task in his opinion. Vaughan said, “They’ve signed some incredible players – AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Faf – unbelievable players. But it tells you unless you get the whole team operating and every single player knowing the roles and identifying different roles for different people and it might be that you have to rejig your team slightly just to allow someone else to flourish in a different position I don’t see the RCB is doing that.”
Do you agree with Michael Vaughan?
