The newest member of the A series, the Google Pixel 9a, was launched in India last week. However, the company stated that the phone would be available for purchase in April and did not provide any specific availability at launch. Google has finally disclosed when the Pixel 9a will go on sale in India and other countries. The phone comes pre-installed with Android 15 and has a dual rear camera configuration and the Tensor G4 processor. It has a new design compared to previous Pixel ‘a’ series phones.
Availability of the Google Pixel 9a in India
Google has announced that the Pixel 9a would go on sale in India on April 16. Customers may purchase the phone in three colours—iris, porcelain, and obsidian—from Flipkart and other retail partners.
Regarding pricing, the only 8GB RAM and 256GB phone model in India would set you back at Rs. 49,999. The phone has a second 128GB storage version and four colour variations in the US and other countries.
Specifications of the Google Pixel 9a
The 6.3-inch Actua pOLED screen of the Pixel 9a has a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, a maximum brightness of 2,700 nits, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Seven years of software and security updates are promised for the dual SIM phone, which runs Android 15. Along with 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM, it has the Tensor G4 SoC. For further protection, Google also incorporates a Titan M2 co-processor.
Regarding optics, the Pixel 9a has two rear cameras: a 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor and a 48-megapixel primary sensor. The phone has a 13-megapixel front-facing camera for video chats and selfies. Add Me, Reimagine, Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and Best Take are just a few of the AI photography capabilities available on the phone.
The Google Pixel 9a has a 5,100mAh battery, which supports 23W fast charging, and a built-in 7.5 wireless charging. In addition to Face unlock, it has an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometrics. The connection features are 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, and a USB Type-C 3.2 port. The phone has two microphones and dual speakers. It weighs 185.9g and has dimensions of 154.7×73.3×8.9mm.
