Sunita Ahuja, wife of actor Govinda, recently drew significant public attention after removing her husband’s surname from her Instagram handle. This action led to widespread speculation among netizens about the couple’s relationship status. However, Sunita has now clarified that the alteration was made purely for numerological reasons.
“I removed Ahuja and added an extra s in my first name. But this change happened almost a year ago,” stated Ssunita, who has also incorporated an additional ‘s’ into her own name. “It was done purely for numerology purposes. I want name and fame—who doesn’t, right?” she added with a laugh.
When asked if the name change was proving beneficial, Govinda’s wife enthusiastically responded, “Absolutely! Can’t you see how viral I’ve gone in the last few months? I’m all over the internet!”
Dispelling any rumors of marital discord, she firmly clarified, “I am an Ahuja, and that won’t change. The surname will only be dropped when I leave the world.” Sunita concluded by urging the public, “We are a happy family. Until something comes directly from both of us, don’t assume anything.”
Govinda and Sunita Ahuja have been married for 37 years and are parents to two children, Tina and Yashvardan.
