Guru Randhawa, the singer, appears to have gotten himself into legal trouble. The Punjabi artist is reportedly facing legal issues due to the lyrics of his most recent songs. According to reports, Guru Randhawan is facing legal action in Ludhiana for allegedly including “drug related” lyrics in his most recent song. Additionally, Ludhiana Court summoned him and requested that he attend the hearings. Here is all the information you require regarding the case.

Why is Guru Randhawa facing legal action?

Guru Randhawa is the target of a complaint on the song Sirra. ‘Derogatory and drug-related lyrics’ are what the complainer claims are in the song. Additionally included are businesses like YouTube, Instagram, Apple Music, and others. A complainant named Rajdeep Singh Mann has reportedly claimed that the track promotes drug culture.

He has objected to the lyrics Oh jatta de aa kaake balliye… jammeya nu gurti ch mili afeem hai…” which means “We are the sons of Jats. We got opium as our first food when we were born.” As per a report in The Indian Express, the advocate of the complainant was quoted as saying, “We demand an FIR against Randhawa. The lyrics insult a pious Sikh tradition. The practice of giving gurti is deeply emotional and associated with respect and purity. The song implies that newborns in Jat families are given opium, which is unacceptable.” Guru Randhawa has now been asked to appear in court in person or through counsel. A hearing has been scheduled for September 2.

Backlash over the song Azul

Guru Randhawa is also embroiled in controversy over his latest single, “Azul.” The artist is getting a lot of criticism for the music video’s appearance. He is under fire for his sexualized depiction of schoolgirls. Guru Randhawa is a photographer who visits an all-girls school in the film. Sonam Kapoor reportedly expressed her worries about the troubling video as well. Guru Randhawa has refrained from commenting on the dispute.
