The five times IPL champions – Mumbai Indians have ended the IPL 2024 on a losing note as they lost their last league match yesterday, it was played against Lucknow Super Giants and with this defeat, MI ended up at the bottom of the points table with just 4 wins in 14 matches.
The captaincy saga gave negative results as fans were so unhappy with Hardik replacing Rohit that they booed the former in almost all the matches. What made things worse was the disappointing performances of MI and poor form of Hardik Pandya who failed to make an impact with both the bat and the ball.
After the match against LSG, when Hardik Pandya was asked what went wrong according to him, he said, “Quite difficult (to summarise), this season we didn’t play good quality cricket and it cost us the whole season.”
In response to the question, “How will he pick himself up from this jolt?”, Hardik Pandya stated, “It’s a professional world. Sometimes there’ll be good and sometimes bad days. We always need to come out to put our best foot forward. As a group we didn’t play quality and smart cricket and it showed in the results.”
This season was really a nightmare for MI.
