Hardik Pandya Slams Team India’s Poor Performance In IND-WI 2nd T20I

The West Indian cricket team has taken a lead of 2-0 in the ongoing 5-match T20I series against India after defeating the visitors in the second T20I by 2 wickets. The second T20I was played yesterday at the Providence Stadium, Guyana and batting first, India posted a total of 152/7 which was successfully chased by the hosts in 18.5 overs.

The Indian batter Tilak Varma played a brilliant knock of 51 runs, the skipper Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan also played useful knocks of 27 runs and 24 runs, respectively but the remaining batters failed in showing any resistance to the WI bowling. Nicholas Pooran was the highest scorer for West Indies with 67 runs and now the hosts will look forward to win the next match in order to seal the series.

After the match, when Hardik Pandya was asked about India’s performance, he said, “If I am being honest that was not a pleasing batting performance. The wickets were falling and the track was on the slower side. We could have batted better. 160 plus or 170 would have been a good total. Batters need to take more responsibility.”

Hardik Pandya was clearly referring to Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav and he further added, “With the current combination we have we will have to trust our top seven batters to come good and hope the bowlers win you games. We have to find ways to make sure we have the right balance, but at the same time, batters need to take more responsibility.”

Do you think India will make a comeback in the next match?
