The much-anticipated Housefull 5, starring Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, and Riteish Deshmukh, is all set to hit theatres on June 6, 2025. As the fifth chapter in one of Bollywood’s most successful comedy franchises, the film promises another dose of madcap humour, this time set against the backdrop of a luxury cruise.
In a recent conversation with The Free Press Journal, director Tarun Mansukhani opened up about working with the star-studded cast and was especially generous in his praise for Abhishek Bachchan. Known for his dry wit and impeccable timing, Abhishek returns to the comedy genre, and Mansukhani didn’t hesitate to highlight his skills. “Definitely it is. Not only is his sense of humour dry like mine but we both love physical comedy as well. He is very underrated in comedy and I hope more writers and directors cast him in comedies,” said the director when asked if Abhishek’s comic timing remains a strength, recalling performances in Dostana and Happy New Year.
The film features one of the largest ensemble casts in recent Bollywood history. Alongside Akshay, Abhishek, and Riteish, the lineup includes Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir.
With Tarun Mansukhani at the helm, Housefull 5 aims to deliver a full-blown comic spectacle. As fans gear up for another round of slapstick and chaos, the film’s release marks a major cinematic event—and a potential turning point for Abhishek Bachchan’s comedic recognition.
