Abhishek Bachchan’s heartfelt portrayal in I Want To Talk reflects his close bond with his daughter Aaradhya. Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar recently revealed how Abhishek’s real-life experiences as a father deeply influenced his performance in the emotional father-daughter drama.
In an interview on YouTube, Shoojit shared insights into the making of the film. The story centers on Arjun Sen, a father battling a life-threatening illness, a role that resonated with Abhishek as the father of 13-year-old Aaradhya. “There are many scenes where he became emotional because meri bhi betiyaan hain, uski bhi beti hai. Kahin na kahin woh reflect karega na uske kaam mein,” Shoojit remarked, explaining how both their shared experiences as fathers brought authenticity to the film.
The filmmaker also noted that Abhishek often drew from his relationship with Aaradhya during the movie’s emotional scenes. Shoojit, a father of two daughters, admitted that the storyline moved him as well. “I know sometimes he won’t tell me, but I know he was affected by it,” he said, adding that the role was particularly personal for the actor.
Abhishek’s performance in I Want To Talk is a testament to his ability to channel his real-life emotions into his craft, making the film a compelling tribute to the father-daughter relationship.
