Amidst speculation and uncertainty, Bigg Boss OTT 4 is officially making a comeback, putting all cancellation rumours to rest. After several reports hinted that the digital edition of the reality show might be scrapped this year, new developments confirm its return, with none other than Salman Khan reprising his role as host.
According to a post by Bigg Boss Tak on X (formerly Twitter), the new season is scheduled to launch in the first week of August 2025 and will stream exclusively on JioHotstar. “CONFIRMED! Bigg Boss OTT 4 is coming soon on JioHotstar! Hosted by Salman Khan. Expected to start in the first week of August,” the post read. While fans await an official statement from the show’s producers, the confirmation has already stirred excitement among viewers who are eager for another season filled with drama, strategy, and high-voltage entertainment.
The journey leading to this confirmation hasn’t been without its share of debates. Recent buzz surrounding Colors TV’s franchise suggested a dilemma among the show’s creators, who were torn between launching Bigg Boss 19 or going ahead with Bigg Boss OTT 4. An insider source revealed that the makers were in the midst of crucial discussions to decide whether they should opt for a single, extended season or continue the existing format—an OTT version followed by the television edition. “What is sure is that the show will happen with the Viacom group, mostly on Jio Hotstar, however, clarity on the same is yet to come,” the source disclosed.
There is also ongoing speculation regarding the structure of the upcoming season. While the producers are yet to make casting announcements, reports suggest that this time the format may be exclusive to celebrities, leaving social media influencers out of the mix. Salman Khan, meanwhile, is expected to begin filming the promotional content for the show by the end of June, marking the beginning of what promises to be another engaging season under his charismatic presence.
