Honey Singh Opens Up On Shah Rukh Khan Hitting Him On A Tour 9 Years Back

Rapper Honey Singh has finally addressed the rumor that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan once slapped him during a U.S. tour, causing an injury that needed stitches. In his documentary, Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous, the rapper clarified the incident and revealed what really happened.

“After nine years, let me share the truth. Nobody knows this,” Honey Singh said, as quoted by a leading publication. He recalled an event during a U.S. tour when he refused to perform. Despite pressure from his team, he resisted, saying he couldn’t go on stage. To make his point, Honey shaved his head and told his team he couldn’t perform like that. However, they suggested he wear a cap and proceed. Frustrated, Honey smashed a coffee mug on his head, injuring himself.

He dismissed the rumor about Shah Rukh Khan, saying, “That man loves me; he would never raise his hand on me.” He explained, “When they took me to Chicago for the show, I told them I couldn’t perform. I was certain something terrible would happen. My team kept pushing me to get ready, but I refused. I shaved my hair off in the bathroom and told them, ‘Now how will I perform?’ They said, ‘Just wear a cap.’ That’s when I saw the mug and hit it on my head.”

Honey Singh’s sister also shared her side of the story in the documentary. She recalled an emotional moment when Honey messaged her, pleading for help and saying something was wrong. Later, she learned he was hospitalized with stitches.

Directed by Mozez Singh, Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous provides a rare glimpse into Honey Singh’s personal and professional life. It is currently available on Netflix.
