Akshay Kumar’s latest outing, Housefull 5, may be shattering box office records but its runaway success is not without significant public outcry. A segment of the audience has taken to social media to vociferously criticize the film, particularly for its depiction and objectification of women.

Soundarya Sharma, in particular, has become the target of relentless trolling for her involvement in a movie described by critics as overly focused on “skin show” and reducing her to mere “eye candy.” Others have lambasted the filmmakers for dialogues brimming with sexual innuendos and vulgarity, drawing unflattering comparisons to adult comedy films like Grand Masti.

Despite the mounting criticism, director Tarun Mansukhani appears unperturbed. In a recent interview, he conveyed his choice to focus on the positive aspects of public discourse.

He remarked, “I feel like that there’s a lot of scrutiny on social media. I also believe that scrutiny tends to only happen on successful films. You tend to keep quiet if a film isn’t working at all. That’s when no one has any opinion and they don’t say anything. So, when people are making noise about my film, I actually feel very happy about it.”
