In his 2007 sports drama “Chak De India,” Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan collaborated with sixteen ladies, all of whom at one point or another felt “insecure” about their on-screen time and placement. In a recent interview, actor Vidya Malavade talked about how the females on the set thought that the other women were receiving “more weightage.” She said that Shah Rukh helped the rookies refine their shots and didn’t seem arrogant despite being a senior among so many others.
In an interview with YouTuber Siddharth Kannan, Vidya gave an explanation of why the females in “Chak De India” were naturally nervous about their screen time. It has happened in the past and was inevitable. I want to be in the front, I want to be in the middle, main centre mein hun, mujhe aage rehna hai. All of that took place “Vidya stated.
While there is now “sisterhood” among all the females, Vidya claimed that during the photo session, everyone felt that “she is getting more weightage, I am not getting it.” But the actor thinks that the girls’ feelings were only “natural” to have. “When 16 girls are grouped together, something inevitable happens. They all have distinct menstrual periods. It’s disorganised and insane,” Vidya thought.
However, the actor commended Chak De India’s production firm, Yash Raj Films, for handling everything so skillfully.
Vidya said that Shah Rukh had assisted the girls in developing their acting abilities. “He was very kind and accommodating,” she remarked. The group resembled his group. At the time, he had such an impact on all of us. There were a lot of new females on the team. They were scarcely aware of the angle or light during the shooting. They were only reciting their lines while standing there. However, SRK had a key role in telling them that if they stood in this way, they would receive greater light and be able to see your face. He contributed to improving the shoots.”
One of Shah Rukh Khan’s best films is Chak De India. Despite having a 20 crore rupee budget, the film brought in 108 crore rupees globally. In addition to Shah Rukh, the other cast members received recognition for their roles in the movie.
