The Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen is currently busy in promoting her upcoming web series, Taali which is going to release on 15 August 2023. Taali is based on the life of transgender Shreegauri Sawant and it depicts the struggles and problems faced by Shreegauri Sawant along with the legal battle which led to inclusion of the third gender in all the official documents of the country.
Recently during an interview, Sushmita Sen revealed the reaction of Shreegauri Sawant after she watched Taali. Sushmita Sen said, “She (Shreegauri Sawant) came to me, blessed me, kissed my forehead and gave me a gift. She told me, ‘I don’t want to watch. Yeh jo kar rahi hai, sahi kar rahi hai. Yeh meri marble chi murti hai” (Whatever she is doing, she’s doing fine. She is like my marble statue.)
The actress also talked about her friendship with the transgender activist and said, “If I’m sick, she’s the first person to come with a blessing. If I need something, she’ll make it her business to make that happen. She has love like that. That’s love in action and that’s who she is. I find her very inspirational.”
