Imran Khan, the Indian actor had a great start to his Bollywood career as his first movie, Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na which was released in 2008 was a big hit. He was seen in some other movies but most of them tanked at the box-office and soon he was without any work.
Now there is news of Imran Khan making a comeback in Bollywood and recently he appeared in an interview in which he also talked about his broken marriage with Avantika Malik and his relationship status.
Imran is currently living with his girlfriend, Lekha Washington and during the interview when he was asked about his divorce with Avantika Malik which happened in 2019, he said, “I don’t have that sense of shame and stigma around it. It was, ultimately, a choice that I made, because I understood that we were in a place where we weren’t enabling and empowering each other to be the strongest and best versions of ourselves.”
He further said, “This can happen in long-term relationships. You start to get into patterns, which may not be the healthiest. And in this case, in order for both of us to thrive, we needed to take a difficult call. It’s not easy; it’s gut-wrenching, heart-wrenching. But ultimately, it has been instrumental in my becoming healthier, stronger. I don’t think there’s anything wrong in people changing the status of their relationship.”
